Sensex today | Stock Market Live: Sensex jumps 460 points, Nifty reclaims 23,550 in early trade
Indian equity markets opened higher on Tuesday despite mixed global cues. At 9.16 a.m., the Sensex was up 459.68 points, or 0.61 per cent, at 76,152.46, while the Nifty gained 109.60 points, or 0.47 per cent, to 23,550.40.
With the Q2 results season peaking, stock-specific action is expected to dominate trading activity, while the US midterm election outcome will remain a key global trigger.
Markets may extend their recovery after the previous session’s strong rebound, supported by easing crude oil prices and hopes of de-escalation in the Middle East. However, the sustainability of the upmove will depend on global market trends, progress in US-Iran negotiations and investor sentiment.
Asian stocks declined in early trade, while US markets retreated sharply overnight from their day’s highs amid election-related nervousness. Continued weakness in global technology stocks or setbacks in diplomatic negotiations could revive volatility and weigh on risk appetite.
